⚙️ Wearable Brain Interface

Plus: Special Pulse Sensor, Predictable Motion Sander

Hi, Hardwirers!

For years, human–machine interfaces chased spectacle. Now the center of gravity is shifting inward

HEALTH

A Soft, Wearable Brain Interface

👀 What is it: Revoice is a wearable smart necklace from University of Cambridge that functions like a simplified, non invasive brain computer interface. Instead of reading neural signals directly, it captures residual throat muscle activity and physiological cues to infer intended speech. Worn as a fabric choker, it avoids surgery, implants, and overt medical hardware while promising real time conversational output.

🧪 Reality Check: The differentiation is architectural. Revoice treats speech as a motor signal problem rather than a language one. Ultra sensitive textile sensors read micro vibrations that survive stroke damage, while AI reconstructs intent upstream of sound. This sidesteps invasive BCIs and heavy retraining. The risk is semantic inflation. Expanding partial intent into full sentences demands strict guardrails or misinterpretation becomes the dominant failure mode.

Our take: This is a pragmatic bridge between assistive tech and brain interfaces. If accuracy scales without over interpretation, it redraws the roadmap for speech recovery.

GAME

A Clickbait Serious Controller With a Pulse Sensor

👀 What is it: RG G01 is Anbernic’s latest gamepad experiment, and it knows exactly how to get clicks. A built-in screen handles on-device remapping, macros, and calibration, while a heart rate sensor sits front and center for maximum curiosity pull. It connects over Bluetooth, 2.4GHz, or wire, and positions itself as both configurable hardware and conversation starter, whether you asked for one or not.

🧪 Reality Check: Strip away the joke sensor and the engineering is solid. Onboard configuration without software friction actually matters when bouncing across PC, Switch, and mobile. Calibration, gyroscope support, and a claimed 1000Hz polling rate suggest real controller discipline. The heart rate sensor does nothing functional, but it succeeds as bait, dragging attention toward a product that is otherwise quietly competent.

⚙️ Our take: This is a gag wrapped around a well built controller. The heart rate feature is pure click magnet. The hardware underneath earns respect anyway. Credit where due.

TOOLS

A Controlled Linear Motion Detail Sander

👀 What is it: NeoSander Mini Electric Reciprocating Detail Sander is a palm sized electric tool designed for fine sanding and light cutting where rotary tools tend to overreact. Instead of spinning, it uses short stroke linear reciprocation to control contact force. The product positions itself between hand sanding and micro rotary tools, targeting tasks where accuracy matters more than removal speed.

🧪 Reality Check: The real differentiation is motion geometry. Linear reciprocation removes torque and angular inertia, which are the main causes of chatter, edge damage, and runaway cuts in small workpieces. That makes it well suited for inner corners, seams, model parts, 3D printed cleanup, and repair work near finished surfaces. Output is intentionally limited, trading throughput for predictability and repeatability.

⚙️ Our take: This is not a faster tool, but a safer one in physical terms. It earns its place only in precision workflows where one mistake ruins the part. Outside that niche, it adds little value.
